I really like this idea. Sure it's true that there are bigger concerns with COVID-19; but doing this does not take anything away from it. It would give some student-athletes (along with athletic
staffs & entire programs) a little recognition at least for their efforts.
Extremely grateful for this group and the job they did this year helping change the direction of @UMassBasketball. Future is bright. Praying everyone makes it home safely to their families. #Flagship 🚩
Kids today with their apps. In my day you had to call a woman on the phone and ask her directly to be your bank robbery getaway driver. https://t.co/QNDYGY9I6N
Samba with the freethrow down the stretch to solidify the lead for UMass. Outstanding game for him - maximum hustle & some very clutch boards - 12Pt 13R 1A 1Bl 2St 🏀 #GoUMass
Kid is 18, maybe 19 and has more maturity and perspective than I do about this stuff. I am damn glad he’s at UMass. I have faith in him. He may just rise to the occasion and surprise us all. That is, after all, what distinguishes the great ones.
Gotta love this quote!
However true, I still admire the humility & self-depecating sense of humour that’s not viewed negatively all where we’re from—quite the opposite in fact. (He’s from a town just an hour from Vancouver, BC, where I was born.) #HOF2020#LarryWalker 🇨🇦
Larry Walker on going into the Hall of Fame alongside Derek Jeter: "Remember those old 45's we used to listen to, and they had the song on the A side, and song the B side you really didn't know about? I'm the B side."
Larry Walker (born in Maple Ridge, British Columbia) is the 2nd Canadian-born player elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame.
He joins Ferguson Jenkins (Chatham, Ontario), who was inducted into Cooperstown in 1991.
