@albertaretard@GodsTwilitOne@goofyballs67695 I see an equivalent number of tomboy trans women and tomgirl trans men, but that's because I spend time in irl spaces with other trans people. You should avoid using your social media feed to inform your opinion on who is and is not represented in communities you're not part of
@albertaretard@GodsTwilitOne@goofyballs67695 as a trans man with incredibly "feminine" interests and style, I have sex dysphoria and transitioning was the only way to alleviate that. do you believe every cis man who acts feminine is secretly a trans woman or is this a double standard you hold for trans men specifically?
I think part of the problem is that some trans men seem to be conflating passing as cis with passing as cis*het*; passing as male is easier than most assume, passing as a typical cis STRAIGHT man is the thing you have to give up your personality for.
seeing other queers unironically say “you treat gender like it’s a playground” as an insult has made me realize just how deep we are in hell. like if we’re not already in full fascism we’re an eyelash away
what part of me correcting someone's flat-out incorrect definition of the term "cis" made so many of y'all assume you needed to mansplain to me how passing works? I've been out as a trans man since 2013, my opinions on this matter are based on lived experience, thanks
@Woa_mikaela@hexdwimo cis is not "following general population gender rules" it's just identifying as your gender assigned at birth, it is entirely possible to be gender nonconforming and pass as cis
I don't know which pre-t trans man needs to hear this but your silhouette is more important than your style when it comes to passing. an alt fashion outfit with good shape and drape is always going to help you pass better than a generic outfit with bad shape and drape.
@FConoisseur@Woa_mikaela@hexdwimo I wasn't but I am now, if you want to pass *as quickly and with as little effort as possible*, yes, the way to do that is to dress like joe schmoe, but the idea that you HAVE to give up your style to pass pre-t is a straight up lie I'm pretty fed up with myself :/
@FConoisseur@Woa_mikaela@hexdwimo sure, but nobody here is denying that passing is easier if your only puberty was the right one so I'm not sure why you're bringing it up? I started T as an adult and pass as cis while gnc, which is why I know it's possible to do
@eggploont@SAWTOWNE magical love cure shot was the winning entry for a miku expo song contest which means crypton owns the song, not sawtowne, so he probably wasn't the one who set this up
@Superstraight09@Kaily_Bear@RachaelUnedited if this person is using the correct pronouns for their stepbrother it means the mom thought she was naming a girl at the time, not a boy
@himeyuriful@katiserie@poisonbugtype turning it grayscale just lets you see the values of the colors more easily, if they're too similar in value it means there's not enough contrast and it won't be easily legible
@Sarah_Colero@WoollerEmma obviously not, but whether or not you recognize yourself as being disabled DOES affect whether or not you'd try to access resources specifically for disabled people; like I said, the redundancy is to make sure those people know they're allowed to access those resources
@WoollerEmma@Sarah_Colero the redundant wording is intended to include people who are part of the relevant group but won't necessarily recognize themselves as such, not all elderly or nd people realize or accept that they're disabled and thus wouldn't register that those resources are intended for them
@QUEIRD0@TFTranssexual@junoslight I don't rlly think it's healthy to turn that hesitancy and discomfort into its own identity instead of working out WHY you feel like you're not "allowed" to claim the actual term though, especially when those feelings often stem from unaddressed internalized cisheteronormativity
@QUEIRD0@TFTranssexual@junoslight turning that disconnect into its own discrete identity instead of pushing back against the exclusion that causes it doesn't help anybody but the queerphobes in question though, how is this not essentially just reinforcing their exclusion from the original term?
@pocket_emo_@mel988qw I think you're thinking of orthorexia and/or "bigorexia" but those don't typically result in the sorts of patterns that would lead someone to hone in on specifically BMI like the person in the qt did, that's more characteristic of disorders like anorexia and bulimia afaik
