Drakeo The Ruler’s estate has reached a settlement in its wrongful death lawsuit against Live Nation, Hollywood Elite Security, Black Tide Events, and other companies nearly five years after the rapper was fatally stabbed backstage at the 2021 Once Upon A Time In LA festival.
The lawsuit was filed in 2022 by Drakeo’s brother, who alleged that the event promoters failed to provide adequate security to protect the rapper during a backstage altercation. He argued that the area should have been a safe space and criticized the security measures as “lackadaisical to totally absent.”
The terms of the settlement have not been disclosed, and the filing reportedly states that certain conditions must be completed within 45 days of signing the settlement documents.
