The discourse around Amber Heard is pissing me off. I'm seeing a lot of fellow feminists who haven't watched the trial or researched facts (the way Depp supporters have for 6 years) try to act like the outrage against Heard was unwarranted. Why don't ya'll just do the research?
One important rule to stick to in these next 6 months, is to not dwell on what went wrong in the last 6 months. Heal, detach, leave the past in the past, let it end, lock in, and keep things moving.
Emily Blunt is the only actress who believably acts like her character from the first movie, with Stanley Tucci as honorable mention. But otherwise, the plot, pacing, tone, acting, romance all got a severe downgrade. This movie legit pisses me off with how stupid it is.
Just watched Devil Wears Prada 2 and holy monkey balls does it feel like Tiktok fanfiction. Acting is low-key horrible (Andy is incredibly spastic and annoying, Miranda much less elegant and composed compared to first movie), and the humor overall comes across as desperate.
Increasingly I feel like I'm walking away having watched brainrot against my will. I keep trying to hunt down those niche, creative types of videos I used to enjoy, but the DAMN SEARCH ENGINES suck so much I literally can't find shit on this platform anymore. WHAT is going on.
Youtube has hit rock bottom for me nowadays. Search engine doesn't show what I want anymore (I can't find squat), new subscription videos are scrambled up by "relevancy" rather than by time released (wtf), shorts hog up the homepage, and most videos are gossipy ragebait or AI.
More than half the time I find myself half-heartedly clicking a video I have zero interest in, or finally giving up and going back to videos I enjoyed from years ago. How is it that I invest this much time on Youtube and barely get any satisfaction from it?
