@EricaLome on building a new @HistoricNE collecting plan: "We seek to build a collection that shares diverse and inclusive stories about those who lived and labored in New England, past and present." #HNESummit#Museum#Collections#RepresentationMatters
Lisa Simmons of @RoxFilm and @masscultural: #Festivals an approachable way into the #arts and cultural world. Festivals are the fabric of communities. They are the way people celebrate. They are the way that people laugh and come together and grow together. #HNESummit
Jane Hennedy: In 2021 @HistoricNE's Casey Farm dedicated the Three Sisters Rainkeep. It's not only a beautiful work of art, it's also a 500 gallon rain barrel. It honors indigenous people on the land and indigenous values by prioritizing #sustainability. #HNESummit
New @historic_trades data released at 2022 #HNESummit: Historic #rehab created 165k jobs, including 100k where specific #historicpreservation skills would be desirable. There are severe shortages throughout historic #trades, and a 9% wage premium for those with experience.
Kate Lear: I had been a dancer since I was 3. Dance schools of my childhood were strict, cold, and demanded conformity of movement and of body size. When I walked the hallways of @BalletHispanico I saw dancers every color, shape and size, bright eyed and focused #HNESummit
Carissa Demore of @HistoricNE: When you live in an old house, it's an active, ongoing symbiotic process; it's a continual series of ordinary tasks, glazing a window, adjusting a downspout, clearing snow. These are the essence of connectedness with an old house. #HNESummit
Skelton: "What would the ethical provenance be if you needed a multimedia projector in Brooklyn? The bad news is that you have to make one yourself..." #sustainability#technology#manufacturing#HNESummit

@Kallastra Dual undgrad major in English and Magazine Journalism. Now head of IT for a nonprofit that runs historic sites. I threw a few graduate degrees in there later, but I think the principle holds. Some of the best technology folk I've worked with had liberal arts degrees.
If any other #tlcc2019 have the bright idea of taking the #CTA blue line downtown from O’Hare, just know that there is a shuttle bus with massive lines in the between the Jefferson and Montrose stops. Of course, we #MBTA riders are sadly used to this sort of thing. #TransitFAIL
@jibroderick@HeyHeyHodson Darnit, guys. I was on vacation last week with a banana shirt, but second guessed myself over whether it was appropriate for a professional conference. Lesson learned. :-) #TLCC2018#TLCC2019goals
