@Turtleshell187@DoomcardTen@catgirlprostate One isn’t better or more right with the other but they are very different frameworks and dismissing one as hubris is just not being able to see how different groups can have different relationships to god or the divine
@Turtleshell187@DoomcardTen@catgirlprostate In the same way, Christianity’s relationship to god doesn’t make sense to me. I was raised with the idea of questioning and disagreeing with god as being good, a part of how we understand. I find the idea of a god we’re not allowed to disagree with confusing
@Turtleshell187@DoomcardTen@catgirlprostate That is a misunderstanding of what this story is about. The idea is that god gave us Torah and the interpretation of it is what we’re supposed to do, not have god dictate one correct interpretation. The story ends with god expressing basically praise for doing this
Hey LA: Every moment ICE spends navigating crowds or abandoning operations due to confrontation is a moment they're not tearing families apart.
Every second we delay them is a victory.
Keep resisting.
2 people throwing orange cornflour on Stonehenge got more publicity than 100k on the Restore Nature Now march
Maybe now you understand why Just Stop Oil did it
@clhubes I recently learned that Dutch crunch bread is not a thing everywhere and I was SHOCKED. Stable of sandwiches all my life, but I guess a Northern California thing?
Today, on #YomHaShoah, we remember the six million Jews murdered by the Nazi regime during the Holocaust.
May their memories be a blessing.
May we remember that Never Again means Never Again for Anyone. 🧵
Southwest Airlines is flaunting new razor-thin seats, so now is a great time to remind you that the reason we'll never gave a high speed rail system in America is because Southwest has tirelessly lobbied the government to keep it from happening.
On almost every single one of my shifts, I encounter someone who is homeless or experiencing a mental health crisis who is shouting. Some of them even become violent.
I've killed zero of them.
Jordan Neely should be alive. That "former Marine" murdered a person for being loud.
@LisaKlisch@marquisele FeltnPet on Etsy! They have a lot of suuuuper cute cat caves. Cramble LOVES his, both for naps and for being chaotic. The eye stalks on his bed have been a fun thing for him to attack as well. 10/10, highly recommend
@marquisele This is Cramble Egg, who is named after a typo I once saw in a menu that made me laugh. We mostly call him Cramble, which also works great as a verb when he's running around, making trouble. We describe it as crambling around. An appropriately chaotic name for a chaos kitten

I'm reminded of being assigned this guy for a saint project in one of my many religion classes in Catholic school. I did the lightest bit of research and then refused, even when it was pointed out that look, there was a Jewish connection for me as one of the few Jews in my school
Today is the Catholic feast of St. Maximillian Kolbe, who gave his life in Auschwitz for a fellow prisoner who had a family. He was starved and finally executed via injection of carbolic acid when he wouldn't just die. He was a hero. He was also an antisemite. A thread. (1/12)
