“We have an opportunity here,to send a message to the rest of the country that no matter how much they try, no matter the tactics, no matter the fear mongering, no matter the propaganda, that Jews and Muslims are gonna organize together, we're gonna build together, and we're gonna win together.”

Thank you to special guest, activist @lsarsour for your beautiful words to inspire and energize our 200 canvassers as they got ready to knock thousands of doors for @AbdulElSayed across Detroit.

This past Sunday, IfNotNow Movement held a powerful rally and canvass launch — with partners Seed the Vote, Michigan United Action, Bend the Arc Jewish Action, Unity & Justice Fund, Out-Organize, and DRUM Beats — to kick off the final 72 hours to get out the vote for Abdul.

Now, days after the election, we are still celebrating his historic victory in Michigan. Our movement was thrilled to play a role in Abdul’s win.

WE ARE BUILDING THE BELOVED COMMUNITY RIGHT NOW.

Thank you to special guest, former congressman @Andy_Levin for your beautiful words to inspire and energize our 200 canvassers as they got ready to knock thousands of doors for @AbdulElSayed across Detroit.

Following CNN's report on livestock theft, here is a thread of sheep and goat thefts that took place in South Hebron Hills over the past year alone:

Kudos to @seed_the_vote, Jews for Abdul, @IfNotNowOrg and Michigan Jews for Democracy for your phenomenal work in building a movement to leave the MAGA period behind and resume building a more perfect union.

[Andy Levin @Andy_Levin]

Don’t tell me the ground game doesn’t matter! Tuesday proved otherwise.

One reason a solid majority of Jews voted for Abdul? Because hundreds of Jews from Michigan and around the country talked to them at their doorsteps, one-on-one, empathetically and curiously.

Now it’s time for action. When the new Congress is sworn in on January 3rd, Democrats must not hesitate in delivering for the people. That means fighting for affordability, abolishing ICE, and ending military aid and blocking weapons to Israel. It means supporting true shared safety and equality for all Palestinians, Israelis, our neighbors, and ourselves. Tonight’s results prove loud and clear that these are the common-sense positions that voters demand. Our movement is ready to work with the new Congress to finally pass these transformative policies.

We’re also excited by the historic number of shared safety champions elected and re-elected to Congress this cycle, including IfNotNow Member Brad Lander and many IfNotNow Movement chapter-endorsed candidates, including Chris Rabb and Delia Ramirez. As with Abdul’s Senate win, most voters chose these progressive congressional candidates and many others not in spite of their bold, principled support for Palestinian human rights and blocking weapons to Israel, but in large part because of these popular positions.

If true that Abdul El-Sayed is winning 60% of Jewish voters--an underperformance, but not a full-on catastrophe--I'd credit the organizing done by IfNotNow, Bend the Arc, MI Jews for Democracy, etc, for stemming defections. There are defections, more than normal, but not crazy

🚨 Exit poll of early Jewish vote in #MISen:

Abdul El-Sayed 60%

Mike Rogers 36%

Blank 5%

Among Jewish voters who said they backed Elissa Slotkin in 2024, 23% voted for Rogers. https://t.co/acwlkCh19S

We’re proud to have helped elect Brad, and we can’t wait to work alongside him in Congress to pass the “Block the Bombs” Act and win a thriving future for all.

Mazel tov, Brad!

Mazel Tov, @bradlander !!!

IfNotNow Movement is thrilled to congratulate Brad Lander, the first IfNotNow member to be elected to Congress.

[Brad Lander @bradlander]

Thank you, NY-10 voters! It’s a profound honor to represent you in the U.S. Congress. Whether you voted for me or not, I’ll work hard to serve you, your families, and your neighbors every single day.

I’ll fight fiercely to make life more affordable for working families. To combat the corruption of Trump and his billionaire cronies. To restore trust in democracy by making government deliver. To organize alongside you. To stand up for the human rights of our neighbors, near and far.

Let’s get to work.

[IfNotNow🔥✡️ @IfNotNowOrg]

After handily defeating pro-war, AIPAC-backed Dan Goldman in his June primary, Brad proudly said, “I will be one of the Jewish members of Congress most willing to stand up for Palestinian human rights. And I will stand firmly against bigotry aimed at Jews. Those are not two different jobs. They are the same job.”

We couldn’t agree more.
