“Everyone I know [in U.S. Jewish communities] says settler violence is wrong. If we just sit here and sat we don’t agree with settler violence, but then we allow blank checks to be written to the Israeli government, or allow them to purchase deadly weapons from us, we’re sending a message that they can do whatever they want. And I want to take that message back and let people know that there is a systemic issue that really revolves around the government of Israel.”
IfNotNow’s “Shared Safety Delegation” of members and staff recently visited on-the-ground partners throughout the occupied West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Israel. Having returned to the U.S., delegation participants are working to share their experiences with their local Jewish communities and activate new supporters in the fight for shared safety — of Palestinians and Israelis, our neighbors and ourselves.

In the video, the artists and B’Tselem team members say that “Israel is carrying out a campaign to eliminate Palestinian collective existence in the West Bank.” They call on the international community to take action to stop this project and note that “U.S. taxpayer dollars are funding these crimes."
Our new report, “The Elimination Project”, examines how Israel is dismantling the material, social and political conditions that enable Palestinians to exist as a society and as a collective in the West Bank: to live on their land, earn a living, maintain communities, social ties and political institutions, organize and exercise their collective rights, and uphold the possibility of a future. By violently reshaping the territory, Israel is working to permanently cement exclusive Jewish-Israeli control and sovereignty over the entire area.
What is happening in the West Bank is not a series of isolated incidents. When you look closely and connect the dots, the picture is clear: this is all part of one political project.

The Elimination Project shows how Israel is systematically using interconnected mechanisms: violence, displacement, restrictions on movement, economic strangulation and political repression to dismantle the conditions that allow Palestinians to exist as a collective in the West Bank, while expanding and entrenching Israeli control and Jewish supremacy.

On the eve of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish new year and the beginning of the Days of Awe — our beloved Jewish communities enter a period of great reckoning. How did we live out our values in 5786? Where did we fall short? Who will we be in 5787? How can we achieve teshuvah, a return to righteousness?
Bearing witness to U.S.-enabled apartheid, ethnic cleansing, and genocide along with the steadfastness of Palestinians and the solidarity of Jewish Israeli activists has raised our personal stakes in our campaign to block U.S. weapons to Israel. We have already begun sharing our stories with our local Jewish communities and taking action together.
