Former Congressman @Andy_Levin: "The startling moment we're living through proves we need one thing above all in our leaders in Washington - moral courage and clarity. Know who you are. Know what you stand for. Know who you're fighting for. And actually fight for them, brilliantly, creatively, relentlessly. That's Abdul."
I'm honored to earn the endorsement of former Congressman @Andy_Levin. Congressman Levin fought for Michigan's 9th district with courage and conviction. He’s a champion for working people, our environment, and human rights. Grateful for his support.
Yesterday was a massive outpouring of patriotism. Yes, celebrating the 250th birthday of the Army that helped give birth to this nation. But also: *millions* of Americans showing out to say, I’m ready to fight for our democracy and move ahead to craft a more perfect union.
I’m deeply saddened by Charlie Rangel’s passing, but it’s somehow fitting that he died today. Charlie was a true American war hero. He always emphasized the need to remember his comrades who never made it home from the Korean War.
It’s time for everyone to stand up for our democracy. And it’s time for Dems to show working class voters exactly how we plan to put more money in your pocket through living wages, universal healthcare, pensions, and a real plan to grow good paying, union jobs in America again.
Welcome to Macomb, President Trump. You have unleashed more economic pain and chaos in 100 days than you did in your whole first term. Yes, you won Macomb and Michigan in 2024. But we do not want our most important industry to implode under your helter skelter tariffs.
We don’t want funding for Social Security and programs for our kids’ education slashed. We don’t want our Constitution trampled. The status quo wasn’t working for working people. But your toxic brew of Rule by Billionaires is making everything so much worse!
The Uncommitted movement just spoke in favor of a ceasefire and an arms embargo on Israel’s war and occupation against Palestinians at the Democratic National Convention’s platform drafting committee hearing. -@ElianneMJF
As we enter Shabbat and our holiday honoring Dr. King and the Civil Rights movement, I will be lighting candles in gratitude for our movements of solidarity to engage in tikkun olam, to repair our broken world.
For the past several months, I’ve been deeply concerned about Israel’s war in Gaza, thinking about what I can say or do, as an American, as a Jew, as a former Congressman. But one thing is crystal clear: the war must end.
