Fil-Can Heritage Architect, based in Scarborough. I’m into food, art, accessibility, architecture, urban design, and lately, menswear. Personal views my own.
#Toronto#Waterworks Food Hall features washrooms that are all black. What’s the #design purpose here? It’s so hard to see, especially for people with vision disabilities.
The Filipino language is beautiful, often deep and poetic. And I’m a Filipino immigrant, who misses it and wants to reconnect with it.
Anyhow, exhibit runs until Jan 2025, and I encourage everyone to still go & see it. 🙂 4/4
Last weekend, I enjoyed my experience of the #PacitaAbad#exhibit at @agotoronto. However, the #Filipino translation of the exhibit labels fell short with typo, grammatical errors, and poor word choices. 1/4
Preparing multilingual exhibit labels is not an easy feat — especially when describing an artist, whose life and work embody a rich tapestry of different mediums, techniques, and cultural influences.

Is this unfinished or a missed design opportunity? There is no rain/weather protection for transit users on the street side of @Metrolinx Eglinton #GO station. Would need to run to the old station/nearby bus stop to seek shelter. Photo showing north side, looking east.
@JohnLorinc I wonder how it’s implemented in other cities. Do we just rely on homeowners’ declaration? Can vacant properties be identified using data from property taxes and utility bills? The communication method for VHT was not effective & inclusive for everyone.
@alexbozikovic@snohetta Wasn’t Steven Holl Architects sued for doing this in New York Quees Library? Librarians could not even use the trolley to stack books at the upper levels. I guess Beijing doesn’t care about accessibility.
SKIMS scored lower than Shein when it comes to transparency, traceability, wages, and overall responsibility on this years REMAKE Accountability Report.
Here's the scores for some of the world's largest retailers:
@ConsumerSOS Maybe they can divide the $10k among their 200 members, and pay $50 each? I know, life is so hard — so unfair for housed renters and property owners to pay this much when complaining (again and again) about new housing.

There was some news recently about the awarding of costs against a group of residents who appealed a city-approved rezoning application.
Here is the decision.

While doing a deep dive into the Met Costume Institute’s collections last night, I ran across this dress. Something we discuss in my Museum Theory class is the art of writing “interpretive labels.” That is, describing an object in just a paragraph (1/?)
