I built a custom binary-protocol realtime server in Go from scratch
Faster than redis, replaces pusher for channels ,replaces SQS for queues and gives you Whatsapp style chat with delivery reciepts and smart Group Chat
And thats all in a 5mb binary with zero cloud dependency
we built Guild.
bricklayers and informal workers in Nigeria have been invisible to the financial system forever. no smartphone, no bank record, every job ends in cash and disappears
here is how Guild works
These informal workers get onboarded via our field agents.
a contractor posts a job and budget on the web or WhatsApp. payment goes into escrow via Squad. our AI agent then calls the worker directly on their button phone or sends an SMS, negotiates the job, and confirms the match
Once the job is done. payout hits their Squad or bank account immediately
that transaction is now on record. do that enough times and a bank can finally see you exist and give opportunities to loans and other benefits.
we also built a solid API doc so banks and financial institutions can plug straight into Guild and start offering these workers loans and financial products

we all downloaded that same portfolio template at some point, edited the name, changed color, and called it our own๐ญ
i finally got tired of seeing myself everywhere and just built mine from scratch

I have been able to do it.
I built a small Chrome extension that reads the DOM for what I'm currently playing and sends the result to a small backend I wrote.
Android exposes NotificationListenerService and MediaSessionManager API, so I created a small app using Kotlin to listen for media events and send to the endpoint.
Everything worked out nicely.

You don't need money to build a product. I've gone from idea to launch without spending a single dollar. Here are the free tools I actually use for every stage ๐งต
