Well, since you asked, here we go:

The scene opens with an “a capella” rendition of lyrics referencing his goal of selling out the O2. This seems normal. But if you look closely, you see he’s set against a red backdrop, which is strange because for filming and production, you would normally expect a greenscreen. Straightaway we see the “eye-red”, the sweat, the blood, and the suffering creating the background with which he has gotten so far.

The red serves a hidden purpose too. The red cape is what a matador waves in front of an angry charging bull. Throughout his career, he has had these big charging bulls always attacking his progress. This is the moment where he waves the red cape. Though entertaining for his admirers and fans, it will inevitably lead to the humiliation of the charging bulls.

The red also recalls the campaign around the Alpha album, where red was heavily used as the central visual theme, and it eventually became the colour scheme for that year’s Rapperholic concert in 2019 (7th edition. We will come to this later).

Moving on, the camera pans out and we see a clapperboard showing 777. Sarkodie likes to rap about his hustle, but which song is his most personal and powerful exploration of his suffering? Mile 7 Freestyle. The show will also take place in 2027, on the occasion of Ghana’s 70th Independence Anniversary. You might think it’s 7 not 70 so this is stretching it, but..Sarkodie was born on 10 July, i.e the 10th day of the 7th month. 10*7 gives you 70. Interestingly, the 2019 Rapperholic concert, which carried the strong red theme during the Alpha campaign, was also the 7th edition of Rapperholic.

Finally, Sark is looking at the viewer mot of the time, but just when the actual shoot starts with the clapperboard, he begins to walk away. He wants you to come with him on this journey. He wants you to be part of this historic moment.
