While Satrapi cashed in on racist campaigns thinly veiled by anti-patriarchal rhetoric calling for 'regime change' in Iran, she never once used her platform to speak out against the ongoing existential threats presented by Western powers against Palestinian, Lebanese, Iranian and ALL other Muslim women in West Asia. @elextra__ it’s also extremely conservative which inhibits a lot of sociopolitical policy and not really comparable to the rest of western europe in many ways. def better than the us in some ways but also worse in others

@elextra__ i’ll concede on the healthcare and worker protections but it’s an extremely stagnant economy with even less opportunities for young people than the us. the government is extremely inefficient and tourism is the only thing keeping it afloat (while also corroding it)
