In February 2025, a refresh of the palliative and end of life care research priorities, guided by people with lived and professional experience, was launched. Recognising the importance of these priorities, the NIHR have a rolling call of funding which they invite research proposals related to selected priorities.

Join speakers from the NIHR and Marie Curie who will outline the process behind the top 24 research priorities, discuss why each priority was selected by the NIHR and provide an overview of the NIHR programmes participating in the rolling call. There will be plenty of time for discussion about the priorities and the research funding process.

A new publication from Dr Joanna Goodrich, Professor Katherine Sleeman and team shares findings from their analysis of experiences of bereaved family carers in England and Wales.
Conducted as part of the Marie Curie Better End of Life Programme, the research identifies challenging experiences of access to care, care coordination and navigating a complex system.
