Along with everyday language. Adoptive parents/child is commonly used but I almost NEVER hear adoptive brother/sister.
So I genuinely ask. Are the words brother, sister, and sibling only reserved for people sharing biological parents? Is there no such thing as adoptive "sibling"
Something I've noticed within everyday language, dictionary, etc. is while adopted child/son/daughter are commonly recognized, adoptive sibling isn't?
Are adoptive siblings just not a thing? Is the word "sibling" only for biological siblings?

I've looked on a couple of dictionaries, and adoptive brother/sister is almost never included. In Merriam Webster, it includes "adopted son" under the definition son, and "adopted daughter" under the definition daughter, but for brother and sister it doesn't include adoptive.
