Just want to say a massive thanks for the kind words and messages following my injury. Also a massive shoutout to our physio Sophie and Longridge volunteers who looked after me ❤️ I’m absolutely gutted especially just recovering from the same injury a year ago. Time to rest up 💪
🩵 | Player Update: Dylan Fitzgerald
Following yesterday’s horrific injury just before half-time in our game away at Longridge Town, Glossop North End forward Dylan Fitzgerald was taken to Royal Preston Hospital after receiving immediate and expert care on the scene from medical staff of both clubs, along with the attending paramedics who arrived quickly.
After further assessment at the hospital, it has been confirmed that Dylan has suffered a dislocated ankle and fractures to both his tibia and fibula on his left leg — heartbreakingly, the exact same injury he previously sustained on his right side.
Dylan has been scheduled for an urgent operation, which we hope will take place today (Sunday), or tomorrow at the latest. He remains in excellent hands with the medical team at Royal Preston Hospital and will continue to be closely monitored throughout his treatment and recovery.
Everyone at Glossop North End sends our love, thoughts, and very best wishes to Dylan and his family during this incredibly difficult time. 💙
We would also like to give special mention to GNE Club Medic, Sophie Marsden, who received well-deserved praise from all around the ground for her swift and professional response. Our sincere thanks also go to the staff and officials from Longridge Town for their outstanding support and assistance in the matter.
Stay strong, Dylan — your GNE family is right behind you all the way. 💙
