In every other CL game, the Saka handball was called a penalty.
The bar has been set extremely low in the CL - consistency says that’s a penalty as well.
This league is actually a bit dead isn't it. Regardless of City or Arsenal whatever. It's just so joyless. It's mostly ref chat, tactical fouls, set-pieces, VAR delays, accountants and other tedious shit with only a handful of genuinely entertaining players about.
Here's the perfect example. This ultimately won Arsenal three huge points on the opening weekend of the Premier League. From start to finish of the season, there is a confusing lack of consistency in how the game is officiated. Rules aren't this flexible.
FUNNY INCIDENT!
PGMOL’s Chris Kavanagh mistakenly — or deliberately — blew the whistle in the 87th minute of West Ham vs Arsenal.
He seemingly did not know why he had blown it, looked towards his assistant, and then awarded Arsenal a free-kick for nothing.
The West Ham bench complained, and he sent one of them off, seemingly to cover up the blunder.
🚨 𝗡𝗘𝗪: Many Premier League fans are FURIOUS over what they see as the league’s refereeing hypocrisy.
They argue that West Ham’s disallowed goal, despite being a foul, is the same type of set-piece block Arsenal have used all season without being punished.
Fans are now demanding CONSISTENCY from referees, claiming Arsenal have benefited from similar decisions throughout the campaign... But now that it has gone against them, it a foul.
