The No. 1 national seed UCLA has been knocked out of the LA Regional with a 6-5 walk off from Saint Mary’s.

Griffin Naess punched out 9 Virginia Tech hitters and threw his changeup 48 times for 13 swing and misses. Here's why he thought it was so effective:

After scoring 14 runs, Larry Lee says this was the first time in a while Cal Poly played all 9 innings.
He turned to his dugout and said “Don’t get complacent” at the end of the 6th inning, after scoring 5 runs. They tacked on two more runs the next inning.
Cal Poly dominates Saint Mary’s 14-1 and is one win away from a Super Regional.
Out of four prior appearances (this being the fifth), it’s the first time they’ve gone 2-0 to start a regional.
