Even my simplest pieces have to undergo a baptism of ink. This is my most magical tune, which came to me on a train in ‘97. It’s had a few titles, all unsatisfactory. Whatever it ends up being called, it will be the last tune on my unforthcoming album…
It’s taken me 35 years, but I’ve finally finished my tune Clahuchu & His Bride! Last time I played it live was in October 1992, when drummer John Stevens was in the audience and singled out this particular tune as being Dolphy-ish.
