For years there has been a lot of talk about "shift left" in testing but I've not seen much "shift right" talk in dev. It happens but you don't hear much about it.
By providing gifts to employees who return to office you are saying their presence and contributions are more meaningful than those that remain remote. Reconsider gift giving based on work location.
Leadership interview panels should include a direct report. The leadership candidate gets some direct knowledge about the team and the direct can help screen candidates based on team needs.
Spotify, like any agile org, doesn’t follow the "Spotify Model." They’ve evolved. So, given that the "Spotify Model" doesn’t even apply to Spotify any more, why do ppl copy it? How does copying somebody else’s solution to their unique problems do anything for you & your problems?
I understand why people use avatars and cute photos on Twitter. I really wish they wouldn’t do that on Slack, at least not for private (e.g. company) channels. If I don’t know everybody on the channel, a photo sure helps.
Job description tip: Don't state that a role as 75% people management then provide a skills list where 15 of the 16 points are technical. Skills lists should speak to the job and be stack ranked.
One of the greatest benefits with working remote that doesn´t get enough attention: not having to struggle with finding available conference rooms when booking meetings.
