@thirteendoll BTS has only ever been nominated for their english radio songs, this could be a way to get more attention on their Korean songs that never would have been nominated anyways. Instead of it limiting them I think you could easily frame it as giving their korean songs more chances.

@thirteendoll If you want to see it that way go ahead but there could be positive things about it. There is nothing stopping bts from submitting songs like dyna or butter for a main category but a song like idol or black swan or b2b that would never get nominated there could be in the new cat.

@thirteendoll No shit. Which is exactly what the R&B and rap categories are and almost every other category that poc are pushed in to whether it fits their song's genre or not. Asian artists are just next on their list. Which is why I am saying it is no different than the other genre awards.

@thirteendoll But he just won aoty 5 months ago so it took 5 awards in the genre categories to get there and he is a much more popular artist in the us than bts is. Bts likely never would have won in the big 4 categories anyways, especially if dynamite couldn't do it.

the members seemed surprised by some of the ramen flavors in their last group live, especially the spicy one, so I find it hard to believe the members themselves have been developing it for 3 years. it's a nice story though, sounds like an expensive ad agency.

ARIH 개발 비하인드, 들었는데 이거 진짜 레전드임

1. 3년 전, BTS 멤버들이 직접 “우리가 먹고 싶은 면이랑 음료 만들자”고 구상을 시작했다고 함. 단순 콜라보 아님. 진짜 처음부터 멤버들이 만든 거.

2. 방향성이 명확했음. 맵고 자극적인 거 NO. 한국적인 감성은 살리되 동서양이 조화롭게 어우러지는 맛. 글로벌 팬들 다 먹을 수 있는 뭔가를 원했던 거.

3. 탄산은 멤버들 전원이 엄청 좋아하는데 마실 때마다 죄책감이 문제였다고. 그래서 목표가 “건강하면서, 탄산감도 살아있고, 근데 맛없으면 절대 안 됨” 이 세 개를 동시에 잡는 거였음. 개발팀 입장에선 이게 진짜 미션 임파서블이었다고 ㅋㅋ

4. 카페인도 마찬가지. 커피 못 마시는 멤버가 있어서 천연카페인으로 방향 잡았는데, 미국 수출 허가 받는 원료 찾는 게 또 하나의 전쟁이었다고.

5. 멤버 7명이 다 너무 적극적으로 관여함. 맛, 원료, 컨셉 하나하나 다 의견 냄. 특히 누들은 멤버들 전부 전문가 수준이라 합의 보는 게 제일 힘들었다고. 근데 이게 진짜 퀄리티를 만든 이유이기도 하고.

6. 맛 잡고 나서 브랜드 네이밍에만 3개월. 멤버들이 2.0 앨범명 Arirang에서 따서 “ARI로 하자”고 강력하게 밀었는데, 3글자는 상표 등록 불가. 결국 ARIH로 바꾸는 데 설득만 3개월 걸렸다고 ㅋㅋㅋ

7. 디자인도 보통 일이 아니었음. BTS 아티스트로서의 기준이 너무 높아서 계속 반려. 결국 멤버들이 직접 디자인 가이드 짜서 줬다고. 맛도, 이름도, 디자인도 전부 BTS 작품인 이유.

8. 멤버들이 듀얼소다는 “부모님께 적극 추천하고 싶다”고 했다고. 전 세계 콘서트 투어 다닐 때도 누들이랑 소다, 에너지 다 들고 다닌다고 함.

9. 파려고 만든 게 아니라, 자기들이 진짜 먹고 싶어서 만든 제품. 그래서 나온 메시지가 이거임.

“우리가 좋아하는 걸, 너희들도 좋아하면 좋겠어.”

10. 이게 그냥 아이돌 콜라보 제품이랑 다른 이유임. 3년, 7명, 맛·네이밍·디자인 전부 직접. ARIH는 진짜 BTS가 만든 거 맞음.
