Presenting my all time greatest hall of fame entry: 6 full odds shinies at 169:41 of game time. Pretty good considering it’s not like I started the file with that goal in mind. In fact I was in the middle of making my way through Kanto when I first happened upon a shiny.
@AndyBakesYT If I could make enough money to support myself solely through playing Pokemon it would certainly be a preferable situation to my current one but tbh I’m glad I don’t have to deal with the idiots in the comments that come with being internet famous
Retroactively inventing a new lifetime challenge called “Go .500 or better at a regional with every fully evolved Johto Pokemon”. Gonna be tough at my current pace of attending one event a season but so far I’ve done:
-Murkrow
-Ho-oh
-Feraligatr
-Scizor
-Ampharos
I was feeling pretty down after the results of the first 6 rounds but the end result of 471st out of 1000+ and top Ampharos user checked all my boxes for a success regional. Don’t know when my next one will be but always love the community experience 🙂
@LiquidHbox New discussion topic: who’s the lowest rated player who could win a major if everyone ranked higher than them was playing a secondary trying to collect this bounty
Why Anti-Meta Teambuilding is So Hard in Reg M-A 🧵
While I have been having lots of fun with Reg M-A, I agree that it’s felt~off~
For me it’s not Rock Slides or Speed Ties, it’s that many cool Niche Mons have overlapping weaknesses with Top Meta Threats and catch strays (1/7)
In a vacuum I prefer CTS, to me that’s proper Pokemon. However logistically it’s impossible to prevent people from attempting to abuse outside the game resources to access that precious information so it’s better to just give it to everyone to not reward such behavior.
I would honestly prefer to go back to CTS bc I’ve never played official tours that way and it’s classic vgc. However, if we are sticking with OTS, I don’t think open nature is bad.
I think we should all just carry around popsicle sticks and everytime you lose to a rockslide flinch you hand the opponent one and whoever has the most gets a prize.
My team seems to have only bad matchups and 50/50 matchups, but as long as I can outplay enough of the people at the bottom tables to go 4-4 I’ll be happy with who I’ve chosen to rep as some of my favorite Pokemon.
@Kwikpanik I played one Bo3 with the team I’ve felt most comfortable with, thought “this looks like a good matchup” and then got 2-0’d without even a 50-50 in the endgame and now I’m considering starting from scratch with a meme Pokemon and less than 48 hours left
