My ultimate hope for rollback Brawl and P+ is for us all to come around a single great version we can all play together.

It makes no sense whatsoever to have 3 or more different builds, all open source, splitting up the community.

It doesn’t matter what client you want to use, everyone should be able to play with each other.

that worked 10 years ago when no one knew what they were doing lol

melee has been optimized incredibly to the point where specific aggression (especially with jigglypuff) is not only better, but actually necessary to beat the best players in the world

in a lot of ways melee has aged beautifully compared to ultimate and is still being optimized. ultimate seems to be approaching a natural conclusion in terms of meta but I’d rather hope to be wrong
