Karachi Kings’ decision to retire out Saad Baig deserves appreciation on multiple fronts. For one, they showed the courage to adopt a tactic that is increasingly relevant in modern day cricket but still seen as taboo in Pakistan’s cricketing culture.
Credit to the young Saad Baig as well for putting the team first and not letting ego get in the way.
Some may point to the fact that Karachi didn’t add many runs after his retirement but that doesn’t invalidate the decision. If a player (Abbas Afridi in this case) fails to execute a plan, it doesn’t mean the plan itself was flawed.
Afridi is a decent hitter and recently won Karachi a match too, against Lahore, with his batting so there was a proper rationale behind that decision.
Sport is full of strategies that don’t always come off but their occasional failure doesn’t make them wrong. The intent and thinking behind them still hold value.
Full credit to Ravi Bopara, Moeen Ali, Haider Azhar and Saad Baig for challenging convention and embracing a move that could well become the norm in the years to come.
Retiring out is a tactic in team’s interest and shouldn’t be seen as an insult to a batter.
Just to let you all know that the West Indies got knocked out of the World Cup on March 1st .. it’s now March 9th .. they are still stranded in Kolkata .. SA are in the same position .. !!!!!!!!!!!! This isn’t right … England got on a charter 36 hrs after being knocked out .. as should be the case for all teams ..
Muneeba wasn't diving towards the end, in that case if a batter is out of her/his ground when wicket is broken, he/she is out as ball was still in play.
This was as out as Bairstow was during Ashes.

"It’s utterly shameful that India stoops so low" 🇮🇳
Another member from the Pakistan delegation hit back at India, while the Indian delegation member ran away without replying. BRAVO! 🇵🇰👏
