This is the answer to replacing an aging infrastructure in our cities. In return for giving, private companies (who have the talent, expertise, and capital) a 20-year easement for transportation lines free of taxes, they must replace all sewer, water, electricity, and gas line infrastructure in the metropolitan areas where they're granted exclusive contracts. This is the cost of getting it done in America. This is the reason we should all celebrate capitalism!

The United States should enter into an agreement with China and Taiwan whereby China leases Taiwan to the United States with Taiwan's agreement as a US Protectorate, similar to the arrangement made with Great Britain in the "Convention for the Extension of Hong Kong Territory (1898)", in which it leased the New Territories to Great Britain for 99 years. This agreement gave Britain full control over Hong Kong. The Convention was signed on June 9, 1898, in Peking, China. It was also known as the Second Convention of Peking. The agreement leased the New Territories, northern Kowloon, and 235 islands to Britain for free. The lease went into effect on July 1, 1898. Britain officially transferred control of Hong Kong back to China on July 1, 1997. This is known as the "handover". This would stabilize our relationship with China and usher in a new era of peace and cooperation with our two countries and the World!

Let's use this trip to help them solve one of their most serious economic problems, while at the same time, helping the West solve one of theirs: Affordable Housing for Seniors. In the United States, there are approximately 67 million Baby Boomers and 14 million people from the Silent Generation. In Europe, there are roughly 90 to 95 million Baby Boomers, while the Silent Generation makes up a shrinking demographic of about 20 million or fewer across the continent. Estimates indicate that there are approximately 65 million to 90 million vacant housing units in China. This massive housing glut stems from decades of overbuilding and speculative real estate investments. Why not use President Trump's visit to Beijing to help China solve its overbuilt real estate problem while at the same time opening opportunities for seniors in the West to buy or rent affordable housing in areas designed to accommodate US social security recipients and European government pensioners in a lifestyle that will afford them the dignity they deserve?
