Wrote about the latest @WCryman@boyblanck project Boy Cried Wolf, one of the freshest sounds I've heard this year.

Unexpected collab, beautiful results. Fuck with the sound heavy.

GLOBAL CITIZEN: closer to what is probably a spiral as the rappers reach new heights in their careers. What is interesting about this track is @boyblanck delivers his conventional sleepy-trap verse while @wolf delivers his DFKM-esque spoken-word verse.

CHADTI KYUN NHI: Oh my, funky-ass synth line. The verses are still existential, but now you’re grooving to the beat. Absolutely love this production. Also, this is a sequel to the themes of Q. #dhh
Q: the most elaborately produced track of the EP and so it makes sense that this is the lead single. Boyblanck is crooning on that hook, man. I am the pink dolphin crying into the light meme. #dhh
EARTH DAY: @WCryman is fucking flowing on this. Beat built on a guitar riff that is really punchy. The @boyblanck verse stands in contrast with wolfie’s in that he sounds a lot surer of himself. #dhh
27 CLUB by @ranjababe : in a country that considers loving a sin, having positive discussions about sex is a pipe dream. 27 CLUB is groundbreaking in its frankness about desire through a female gaze. RANJ takes the vulnerability of RnB anduses it to broadcast her identity.#dhh
Love is a universal feeling, but a unique experience; artists can use it as a framework to put their creativity on display. Indian Hip-Hop is in a fledgling state on the way to being a big scene and love is the perfect vehicle for this endeavour. This thread explores that. #dhh
Keychain Laalu by @ArpitBala : eychain Laalu is what you get if that dude in your college roaming around with a guitar works on his music, develops a sound, creates a tender soundscape, and then tries to seduce you. #dhh
TERMINAL 2 by @pholySHID : A relationship is exciting. You do not know where this may go, but you know that you feel good. Love is a rousing emotion fuelled by an excitement for the unknown. pho describes love through the metaphor of a flight journey on Terminal 2. #dhh
DALLI by Bhaskar: a love letter to Delhi and Bhaskar’s lover (it gets confusing), oscillates between old-fashioned boom-bap, R&B, to Bollywood Party music on a sugar-rush. #dhh
Pyar N’ stuff by @tumharananku : yar N’ Stuff is Nanku’s audition to Bollywood to make their party bangers and he has the recipe down pat— raunchy, unserious, booze, sex, and sudden bouts of tenderness—you know, Pyar N’ Stuff. @tumharananku will go bollywood.#dhh
@SingerHariharan@SingerHariharan makes it so that you can have two kinds of listening experiences. You can either pay attention to how the production interacts and forms around the vocals, or you can hone in on the vocals and the poetry.
In my latest piece, I talk about famed @SingerHariharan's incredible new Ghazal album, Jaan Meri and offer my experience listening to it on an afternoon stroll. Check it out!

@SingerHariharan Baat Se Baat: busy instrumentation. Love the contrast between the vocals and the production—a true Serotonin boost. The highlight for me is the guitars and the Tabla working together to get you head bobbing. I’m typing like I’m playing along to the music. @SingerHariharan
The beauty of the Ghazal is in its ability to reset. Every couplet sits under the same telling, but exists as its own poem. A direct parallel to this concept today is the mixtape—the crafting of characters and scenes under one soundscape.
