In Nairobi, Kenya, there is a neighbourhood known as Eastleigh, which functions like a city state. It has grown so powerful that it has managed to bribe the media into staying quiet about how its residents are illegally acquiring Kenyan national IDs. To a large extent, the government has also been issuing diplomatic passports to members of this community. Yet we know they come from a nation Somalia, they destroyed and they now appear to be on the verge of destroying ours.
They claim to be giving Kenya billions from scams in the US, but the question remains: do they think we cannot do without this illegal money? I have information that they maintain deep connections with government officers, ranging from ordinary police officers to higher level officer one even acting as their president. They have placed officers of their own descent at virtually every level of authority to serve their interests.
I believe this constitutes a parallel form of government and forms part of a broader plan for a “Greater Somalia.”

I am deeply saddened by the tragic death of Ms. Laura Wesonga, a KMTC Busia Campus student, who was fatally shot during a police operation in Marachi Estate, Busia Town yesterday evening. I extend my heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, fellow students, and the people of Busia.

The police have a constitutional duty to protect life. No law enforcement operation should result in the loss of innocent lives. Every operation must be conducted with professionalism, restraint, and full respect for the Constitution.

I therefore call for an immediate, independent, and transparent investigation by @IPOA_KE with any officer found responsible held fully accountable. The @NPSOfficial_KE operations should be intelligence led, professional policing that protects innocent citizens while firmly dealing with crime.

The political temperatures in Busia must cool down immediately. I urge political leaders across Busia and the wider nation to fully embrace democracy. In a democracy, dissent is a right. Not everyone must support you. Using hired goons to intimidate rivals and settle political scores is primitive, illegal, and unacceptable.

#JusticeforLauraWesonga must be swift, transparent, and uncompromising. The people of Busia deserve security, accountability, and respect for the sanctity of human life.
