I don’t have a horse in the menorah debate, but I do wonder how it ends up discrediting the Rambam’s intellect. If he were shown new evidence, he’d have changed his mind—on astronomy, on medicine, on metzizah. Treating him as infallible feels deeply perplexing.

@ILikeMischief @academic_la @hansgruberlebt The charges were filed months ago under seal. This means the DOJ was able to work on the case w/o public knowledge. They do that often in high profile cases, so that intel isn’t compromised. I believe I read that the charges were from Feb.
