Alberta Separation
I have asked my family and friends—specifically those who are Albertans—to ask themselves the following question:
“Why should I stay in Canada?”
List one or two reasons.
This should be an individual question, and the reasons should represent a true net personal benefit to you and your household. To qualify as a genuine reason to stay, it should be something you believe you would actually lose if Alberta were to separate.
Examples of reasons might include:
•Taxes
•Healthcare
•Personal economic opportunity
•Security
•Culture
This should be a serious, careful, and deeply personal evaluation, grounded in facts—not the opinions or preferences of others.
Every Albertan has a say.
One Albertan. One vote.

For Non-Albertans
As you form opinions on why Albertans should not leave Canada, you should perform the same analysis for yourself:
Why do I want Alberta to stay, or why do I care if they leave?
This, too, should be evaluated honestly in terms of what is in it for you.
What you may find—as I have—is that there are many reasons for an Albertan to consider leaving, and few, if any, compelling personal reasons to stay. Advocating for Albertans to remain—or worse, protesting their right to even ask the question—implicitly expects Albertans to be unusually benevolent, placing the interests of others and various special-interest groups ahead of themselves and their families.
Every Albertan should educate themselves and make the decision that is best for them and their household. When your decision is challenged, ask two simple questions:
•What is in it for me?
•What is in it for them?

@elonmusk@benmezrich Yup, did a quick check: If you made $45/yr, paid in BTC, saved 5% of your paycheck weekly (starting Jan 2015), you would have 14.69 BTC vs $13,630 🤔 - add some #teslastock and wow!
The rights and freedoms of the individual should never be sacrificed while under the control of centralized power run by a few individuals who have never shown, individually or collectively, benevolence.
