@MrDapperDragon @WayaShinzui I thought that was just my impression that the writing got worse. I got through the first 4 books (maybe part of 5?), and while the first 3 were nice, I don't personally like that you get a different main character for each one. I didn't finish the series though, I just couldn't.

@Askila_Deamon @MrDapperDragon Temeraire? In very simple words: Napoleonic wars, but with dragons. There are no other fantasy elements, just dragons. Anything more than this I feel would remove some of the pleasure of discovery from reading. One thing I'll add is that dragons are intelligent and can talk.

@MrDapperDragon To add to the list, the series of The Remembered War by Robert Vane (Starting with A Dragon's Chains) is adult fantasy with dragons as main characters and told from their pov. I personally very much enjoyed it, would recommend.

@MrDapperDragon Temeraire is probably one of the best series with dragons I've ever read. I was skeptical of the historical fantasy genre, but oh boy was I wrong. Absolutely stunning work.
Just finished reading Defiant as well, the series is quite lovely, gave me a lot of Eragon kind of vibes.
