And readers bring a copy of your book thoroughly underlined and annotated and ask you what you meant on page 167… That has only happened to me in Jaipur (and in Lahore at the ThinkFest there)
Irritating & ignorant article: our @JaipurLitFest literary sessions are massively crowded with passionate, nerdy young readers & our authors regular report the longest signing queues of their careers: in 5 days of the last JLF we sold over 44,000 books

The India-Greece Publishing Dialogue at the Frankfurter Buchmesse 2025 successfully illuminated the promising collaboration between the two nations' publishing industries. Greek guests, including Michalis Kalamaras (a publishing consultant and founder of https://t.co/BfVkdpvrpz) and Argyris Kastaniotis (Director General of Kastaniotis Editions), expressed strong interest in maintaining and deepening this direct relationship, acknowledging India's large, dynamic market and its creativity across various publishing platforms.
The discussion was moderated by Shri Kumar Vikram (Chief Editor & Joint Director, NBT-India) and chaired by Prof. Milind Sudhakar Marathe (Chairman, NBT-India). Mr. Chandrasekaran (Director of the Central Institute of Classical Tamil) provided a historical foundation, highlighting literary evidence from ancient Tamil works (Purananooru and Pathitrupathu) that links India and Greece over 3,000 years, noting philosophical similarities in up to forty instances between Pythagoras' philosophy and Thirukkural.
Moving forward, speakers, including Kartik Raj Kushvah (CEO of KOJO Press), concurred that while challenges exist across the global industry, the strategic convergence of culture and technology will be key to future growth, with plans mentioned to enhance translations of Tamil literature into the Greek language to solidify this cultural exchange.
