The Scottish Government's eDevelopment service enables users to submit Planning and Building applications and appeals online. Support desk is open Mon-Fri, 9-4.
A slower week for online applications last week with just 5,033 submissions made online. While we saw drops in both planning and BStds submissions last week, it's still been a strong first 5 months for 2026 with more applications submitted than in the same period in 2025.
Despite the long weekend for many in Scotland, it was another busy week for the service with another 5.4k submissions made online. This continues our busy start to 2026.
Another slower week for the eDevelopment service with 4.8k submissions made online - last week saw lower numbers of both planning and BStds submissions made compared to the previous week (-4.5%) and was just the 4th week with <5k submissions seen this year.
Last week saw a welcome return to the big weeks after the school holidays with around 5.5k submissions made online - this was +10.3% on the previous week and +16.7% from the same week in 2025.
We saw >5k submissions made online again through eDevelopment after a drop off the week before (+13% from last week). We do tend to see a drop-off around this time of year with Easter hol's and 2026 appears no different 😀

Another decent week for submissions on eDevelopment with 5,557 made online in total via ePlanning and eBStds. That's also the 10th straight week with >5k submissions continuing a very strong start to the year.
Last week saw a reduction in submissions from the previous week with around 5.5k made online. That's still the 9th straight week of submission numbers >5k.

6,031 online submissions made last week via eDevelopment - that's the biggest weekly total since March 2024 and an increase of over 13% compared to the same week last year.
Scratch last week's tweet - the online submission numbers just increased again this last week with 5,573. That's 7 consecutive weeks above 5k mark and the highest for 2026 so far.
Last week was the busiest week in 2026 so far for ppl making online planning and BStds submissions - we received 5,564 submissions last week alone which was around 6% more than in the same week last year.
It was another big week for eBStds continuing a strong start to 2026. It was also 5 consecutive weeks of where total submissions through eDevelopment >5k - a feat only seen once before back in 2022.
Another strong week for eDevelopment with 5,311 submissions made online between the 9th and 15th February 2026. That's a small increase from last week (+1.1%) and a slightly higher increase compared to the same week in 2025 (+2.4%)
Last week saw the 5th consecutive increase in submission numbers this year with 5,253 applications and appeals made online - there were increases in both Planning and BStds forms last week. 📈
