If genai users wish to bridge the gap between them and artists in good faith, one way or another you WILL have to contend with the artist's view that genai, as it currently stands, is unethical theft, even if they fail to convincingly articulate it here on x dot com.

There's been alot of discourse and drama events about genai art these last few months.

I have some thoughts for both sides that i just want to get out somewhere. I don't care if nobody sees this. I just feel like i'm taking crazy pills seeing the same shit over and over again 🧵

The relationship between you, the commissioner, and the artist is reciprocal. The responsibility to act professional is just as much ON YOU as it is on the artist.

You are not entitled to their time & effort until a transaction is made and an obligation is set.
