🎡❤️ Weekend memories from The Love Architect
We just got back from our yearly ‘pilgrimage’ to the @IsleOfWightFestival and it was pure magic again.
What started as a boys’ weekend tradition for my husband and our mutual best buddy has beautifully evolved into a massive family get-together. Last year we had 4 couples + bestie’s extended family (his sister, husband and their 2 daughters and their partner).
This year, two of us couples brought our adult children along. Camping together at Pink Moon, sharing meals and drinks, dancing, laughing, and talking deep into the night… watching the next generation make their own memories while we created new ones as a bigger tribe.
We had 3 days of costume themes. Saturday was IOW’s official Science Fiction/Space theme and our group mostly went with Star Wars. Friday was Sparkly/Sequins. Sunday was meant to be Goth and I was the only one following the memo (no thanks to extreme heat!) 🤭
No one was alone. We took care of each other. We supported one another. We entertained each other between performances and we sang to our hearts content till I lost my voice.
Next year’s tickets are secured and this time, one more of our adult daughter is joining us. And the other couples kid are joining too! I can’t wait for 2027.
There’s something so special about traditions that grow with you, from couple adventures to multi-generational joy. Grateful for these moments that stitch our family closer.
What’s a tradition in your life (big or small) that’s evolved beautifully over the years? Share below 👇 I love hearing these stories!

Today October 7 is the day I’m truly thankful I live in Spain. For its culture and great socialised healthcare.
My London living daughter, who is currently doing the Camino Santiago, called us in panic at 4:30am breaking out in hives. Her face was swollen and so were her ears. Suspected it to be a severe allergic reaction, we told her she needs to get to a hospital ASAP.
We googled the nearest hospital to her. I told her to just get dressed and call an ambulance.
Within 10 mins an ambulance arrived and she was taken to the hospital for emergency treatment. She had forgotten her EHIC card (an inter UK-EU medical card) and they said ‘we’ll sort it later’.
In our years of being tax residents in Spain, we’ve never had to use the emergency services. But we are glad when our daughter needed help, she didn’t have to wait hours and hours like we had to in London in the years past.
She’s back at her hostel safe and sound a few hours later albeit a little tired to continue with her walk today.
Muchas gracias España 🇪🇸!
@JohnapIdris1@CraigMurrayOrg Great answer John! That’s what I feel so. Home is where the heart is they say. In my culture we say, wherever you step on the earth that’s where the sky you have to uphold. As in you serve the community where you are. I’m a global citizen who feels at home anywhere I go.
@badazn Why are Koreans like you so obsessed about being white? I hope you’re jig trolling! Otherwise I pity your parents for raising someone who has no self awareness and confidence. You cannot change your ethnicity.
Asian Americans to be are not just Chinese origin. Could be a brown Thai or Indonesians, a yellow Vietnamese or Cambodian too. But certainly none of us are white! Ugh the only Asians who think they are white are those brown politicians like Kash Patel who think just because they serve a white master, then they are accepted as one too!
@ValtteriBottas@canyon_bikes@SRAMroad@ZippSpeed@wahoofitness The road less traveled! And you get to keep fit while exploring the natural beauty of Malaysia and possibly the cultured cycle paths of Singapore’s PCN (Park Connector Network) which I miss!! Hyvin tehty Valtteri!!
I’ve just had my second call from “Be My Eyes” and I feel so honoured! Truly humbling to help others with sight issues go about their daily lives.
This time it was from someone in Malaysia and we even had an impromptu chat in Bahasa Melayu!
There’s more volunteers than sight seekers which means you might not be called often but the little you’re called, it feels like gold!
Volunteer when you can please people. It truly is rewarding!

My heart breaks💔The staff member who gave George a ride back to the pits yesterday was interviewed about what happened.
He said that when he went over to George, he told him, “It’s okay, bro. You can do better next time.” George just kept his head down. Even after he got on the bike, he was still sitting there with his head hanging, so the staff member thought he should take the long way back, give George a bit more time to calm down and cool off, and ride slowly back to the rear of the pits.
When asked whether George had held onto his waist, he said no. He said George just looked completely drained, like he was trying to hold himself together and hold back tears, and didn’t even seem to know what to do with his hands.
Huge respect to this staff member. The kindness of a complete stranger showed George more care than some people in his own team did.
Unfortunately I live across the Pacific Ocean from her but she has her own machine. Sadly with her stroke she’s getting less mobile to do it on her own so when it happens, I’ll have get a neighbour to help read for me. But yes I plan on doing this for her. She’s got too many meds.
@CensoredHumans Oh my.. I haven’t seen your posts on my timeline in like forever!! So glad you’re back on my feed! Thank you for this very sad reminder.
@X_sun_ny Now why is a young man from Africa writing about women’s menopause issue? I appreciate this post though I wish more medical professionals would write more posts about something that affects pretty much 99% of half the world’s population sooner or later.
