My column about covering high school basketball at Elkhart Christian and how in some ways, it reminds me of the movie Hoosiers. https://t.co/JdYsuLGqxp
I wrote a column for tomorrow's paper on Elkhart County's Mt. Rushmore of high school football players. Choosing four from such a strong list was pretty tough. Take a look tomorrow and see if you agree.
Our Bob O's story on @FairfieldVBall Madeline Gawthrop, as she prepares to lead the Falcons to the Class 2A North Semistate at Plymouth on Saturday. https://t.co/mnjeNQiYuE
Proud of what we've produced for our section already this week and more coming on Friday. Story on the Northridge girls cross country team heading to state and I was able to do a great interview with Memorial football player Dylan Rost and his recovery from a severe concussion
I'll be talking about the high school football playoffs tonight on 91.1 FM with Matt Kopsea beginning at 6 p.m. The show originates at Beef O'Brady's in Granger... if you're nearby, stop in and say hi.
We have another great picture page coming in Wednesday's Truth from our awesome photographers ... Athletes (and a coach) from Jimtown, Fairfield, Elkhart Memorial and Northridge are featured this week.
My condolences to the family of Stan Hite in Plymouth. Stan's brother Mike and I were friends and teammates for years and I know how close the family is. Prayers for all of you.
Lost in the angst of the Penn-Mishawaka game going away for a few years is the fact that tonight is the last regular-season football game at Elkhart Memorial High School. A lot of players current and past have given there all there and tonight should be a celebration of them.
Sorry to hear about the death of Hall of Fame official Dick Freeman. Officiated football, basketball and baseball and I remember him as always being fair. I once looked back at him while hitting after a strike call and he winked and said, I owe you one. Never forgot that.
