IDF, US & LEBANESE ARMY LAUNCH SOUTH LEBANON ‘SAFE ZONE’ PILOT

The IDF says it has begun a joint pilot program with U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) and the Lebanese Armed Forces in southern Lebanon. As part of the test, Israeli forces will redeploy from one pilot zone to allow the Lebanese Army to take control, with the initiative aimed at evaluating Beirut’s ability to enforce sovereignty. Any Hezbollah ceasefire violations will be handled through a U.S.-led coordination cell.

A new armed faction, the Free Yemen Movement, has declared an uprising against the Houthis from inside Sanaa:

"We announce an armed uprising against the Houthi movement from within Sanaa due to the crimes committed by Iran and the Houthis.

This uprising comes in response to the Houthis' starvation, looting, theft, and killing of Yemenis, as well as their violation of Yemen's sovereignty and implementation of Iranian directives".

After UNESCO moved forward with criticism of Israel over heritage sites, Israel responded by accusing the organization of ignoring Hezbollah’s military use of Beaufort Castle in southern Lebanon.

Israel says Hezbollah built an extensive tunnel network beneath the historic fortress and used the site to launch roughly 400 rockets at Israeli communities. The Foreign Ministry also released graphics and video it says show the tunnels beneath Beaufort Castle, arguing UNESCO has remained silent on the site’s militarization while condemning Israel.

One of the earliest mentions of the kingdom of Israel. The Kurkh Stele is a 9th-century BC Assyrian inscription created during the reign of King Shalmaneser III. It describes the Battle of Qarqar in 853 BC and famously mentions “Ahab the Israelite,” making it one of the earliest known non-biblical references to the Kingdom of Israel. The inscription records Israel as a significant regional power that joined a coalition of Levantine kingdoms against Assyria, providing important archaeological confirmation of ancient Israel’s existence in neighboring historical records.
