Announcing the 2026 π Expo App Awards π
The talent, the care, and the craft we see in the Expo community is staggering. There are powerful, beautiful, important apps getting built with Expo tools and services every day.
The π Expo App Awards is a celebration of the apps and the people who build them.
Last year we had over 1,200 submissions and winners from big enterprises, solo devs (we hired one of them @DaehyeonMun!), and tiny startups that have grown and been acquired.
The award categories are:
οΏ½οΏ½ Expo App of the Year
π Most Creative
π Community's Choice
π Largest Scale
π Most Innovative
Submission criteria is simple: if your app uses Expo you should submit it.
We encourage you to explain what is special about your app in the submission form. For example, if you have unique haptics, or clever Live Activities, or a super nuanced onboarding experience please share that in your submission.
Submissions begin today and go through the end of the month. Then we'll begin evaluating and announcing nominees/winners.

Fun little feature I snuck in a while ago but never announced, you can use EAS cloud simulators through T3 Code's device panel. Perfect if you don't have spare mac minis laying around
We built a CLI for agents, so they can stop guessing whether your app needs a dev build.
Great blog today from @kudochien and @vonovak about exactly what we built and how to take advantage of it: https://t.co/5mzTHNHaNU
The mobile factory is humming @expo - everyone is reaching for this type of setup:
1. agents pick up linear tickets
2. spawn simulators to fix them
3. submit PRs
4. 10-20 going at a time
5. Run your test suite
6. Deploy to Production via Update or Build

Expo App Awards entry, and a good one. Got your own? Last few days, entries close Oct 31: https://t.co/s1IeV8OMPL
@reczko_konrad wrote a horde-survival game with no engine. Renderer, game logic and every shader in TypeScript with TypeGPU, the same code on web and mobile, up to 120 FPS. An Expo App Awards entry, and a good one. Would you ship a game without an engine?

Kharkiv Metro Helper threw its name in for the Expo App Awards. Your turn. Entries close Oct 31: https://t.co/s1IeV8OMPL
A QA engineer who had never built a mobile app made the transit app Kharkiv riders open every day. Works offline, no ads or tracking, 500+ daily users, rated 5.0.
It threw its name in for the Expo App Awards. What app does your city's transit really need?
If your agent shipped a fix over the air and something looks off...you can roll it back in one step.
Your users go back to the last good update.
Here's how rollbacks work: https://t.co/9w9V9NCv6c
π @doodrawapp went from first commit in May to 120k installs in October, with two people and no ad budget. The drawing engine is Rust and the rest is Expo.
π Their Expo App Award submission caught our eye so we asked if they wanted to write a blog about building with Expo and growing their user base organically: https://t.co/QaNEk4b2AY
