i’ve been struggling to put this into words for a while but i think a lot of this AI art craze comes down to these guys feeling the joy of being creative for the first time and mistaking it for something much deeper.
bastardizing this painting with AI makes me FURIOUS because it isn't just some random landscape, this was likely the view van gogh had from the window of the institution he was staying in at the time. it's a piece of his life. he doesn't deserve to be tarnished by AI like this.
