I feel insane I’ve watched this 3894 hundred times on replay and never clocked Mike Breen’s “This building is shaking right now!” Just like what he said with Donte 🥲 There’s generational longing and fulfillment to this win 🥲🥲
This shot by Brunson might be the most memorable of the entire run for me. OG’s tip-in was obviously iconic, but the guts it took to even attempt this shot in this situation is insane. Still in awe about this particular shot.
Madison Square Garden continues to collect a property-tax exemption granted by the city in 1982. The exemption had originally been justified as a means of keeping the Knicks and Rangers from leaving New York.
Although Mayor Ed Koch later stated he believed the tax break would expire after ten years, the final legislation contained no expiration date.
The law has spared MSG from an estimated $43 million a year in NYC property taxes. Altogether, according to the NYC Independent Budget Office, it has amounted to a subsidy worth roughly $960 million from the government to the Garden.
This means that the tax-paying public has been helping subsidize an institution from which much of the public is gradually being excluded (ticket prices for playoff games last year and this season's opener are north of $1,000 per seat)
oh my GOD i just realized
when this aired in October i resigned my spirits: It is too much to ask for a good mayor and a Knicks win
but
"New York ....... This .. Is our year"
applied to both

Everyone meet JB! We recently welcomed JB to the Bronx Zoo along with seven other Nubian goats and he has been loving his new surroundings. JB, who had a front leg amputation at a previous facility, came to us from the Holtsville Ecology Center after it recently closed. (1/2)
