@HarleyShah if his weight is normal, breath smells normal, his pee isn't dark etc the chances are it's nothing serious. could look at anything in his eating environment that might be putting him off like loud noises, change of routine, litter box too close etc. or try heating the food a bit
@HarleyShah I'd go to the vet. Also check what his breath smells like – obvs all cats have stinky fish breath but if it smells particularly bad, kind of like ammonia/urine that's a sign of kidney problems, which are v v common in older cats. I'd also offer fresh water & check his litter tray
@msjlindsay I followed you recently because you were tweeting about poetry. This is some of the most disgustingly cruel, bigoted disinformation I have read in years on this app and I am absolutely appalled that I have followed someone who spouts this utterly shameful hate speech drivel
no idea how Julia Cargill managed to read and not be impressed by my poetry that hasn't been published yet... read three of my poems in Volume 15 of the Manchester Anthology, coming soon!
I am terrible at self promotion but anyone who's in Manchester or will be in Manchester on the 13th October grab yourself a ticket for the Manchester Anthology launch to hear me and my lovely coursemates read our poems, short stories, novel extracts etc x

@Jules6360@MrRavoon and write poems that I'm now v proud of, and (I hope) do such a serious subject more justice than my earlier attempts. I think it's a shame Pennie was published at this stage in her poetry journey rather than encouraged to develop her writing skills
@MizLiot I thought exactly the same – and I'm glad you enjoyed! it was inspired by my very mouldy Victorian house, and the fact that the area it was built on is named after the willow grove that used to grow there. I didn't expect something so pessimistic to be selected by the judges 😅
@MizLiot to be fair regardless of where people stand on the book or the review, it's got everyone talking about poetry which is never a bad thing! but also I do hope Pennie is holding up okay, I know she's previously received a ton of hate that goes beyond honest criticism of her work
@MizLiot my opinion is that it might have been a well intended, but poorly executed attempt to pay homage – something that should have been picked up and advised on in the editing process. which is why I think the publisher should be looked at with more scrutiny than Pennie
@MizLiot that's up for debate – I've also read both of the poems side by side and actually think the plagiarism claim is plausible, and something that could have been avoided by adding "after Sarah Doyle" as an epigraph
@MizLiot but I get the sense we are both cemented in our views on this so we'll have to agree to disagree I think (or risk arguing forever lmao 🤣) but the question of objectivity vs subjectivity in art is something I'm very interested and one day want to write an essay on
@MizLiot rather than encouraged to develop and improve their writing. which I think is very sad as I really enjoy her social media and what she does for the Scots language – a book about that would have been far more exciting and successful with critics than this
