And today holds baby Vivi knowing another briefing is always just around the corner. Jennifer Hegseth who holds seven children together every single time Pete boards that plane. Every deployment. Every trip. Every morning the kids ask where dad is. She answers. Alone. And Jeanette Rubio who has watched her husband cross three continents in one week away from her away from their children for a country that may never fully know her name.

Four women. Four completely different sacrifices. One identical truth. They never asked America to see them. They never posted about what it costs. They never once made it about themselves. On April 25, 1976, during a game between the Chicago Cubs and the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium, two protestors ran onto the field and tried burning an American flag.

Cubs center fielder Rick Monday quickly ran over and grabbed the flag to save it before the protestors could light it on fire. His quick action was met with a standing ovation from the crowd.

When asked later about the incident, Monday said: "If you're going to burn the flag, don't do it around me. I've been to too many veterans' hospitals and seen too many broken bodies of guys who tried to protect it."

Polish Olympic silver medalist in Javelin throw Maria Andrejczyk, who is also a devout Catholic, sold her Olympic medal in an auction two years ago to find money for the heart surgery of a Polish boy. Polish store chain Zabka won the auction, but they returned the medal back to her. Zabka was founded by businessman Mariusz Świtalski. He grew up in an orphanage run by Catholic nuns.

Maria herself is a bone cancer survivor. "A medal is only an object, but it can be of great value to others. This silver can save lives, instead of collecting dust in a closet. That is why I decided to auction it to help sick children,” she says
