@ikrah09 I think chemically it results in shared neurotransmitters being released in our brains and the withdrawal from it is also there (maybe not as bad)
Concerning schools' keeping tabs on their students I think it is absolutely a breach of privacy if they check personal devices (computer, phone) since it is theirs. you wouldn't go thru a student's diary. However the public use of school devices SHOULD be monitored very carefully
So many people think the wage gap is a myth, and use that to reject feminist arguments. But the research is out there! We shouldn't allow this fake news to spread
Even without the comment moderators, the backlash women liek Patricia Arquette receive from speaking about the feminist movement really disappoints me.
Disney should really diversify and make something that does not centre around love. There is more to life, and we should be teaching children about many other different aspects of life!
That is why I think even as time has changed, and Disney adapted to be more inclusive, it does not seem genuine. There are still their old patterns of making women conform to the same ideal beauty standards, and centre of a love "affair"
I think the fact that Disney is so profit-driven makes it so that their message will reflect in such a way that appeals to the vast majority. Therefore it will often be very problematic lol #sadtruth
Do you guys ever think abt how despite how globalized we are, there are still corners of the earth where it has not reached. While India just recently became digitalized, I wonder how online platforms will change with such a large portion of the population being introduced....
Also another approach we need in this era, is to know how to stay true to our authentic selves by turning devices off and connecting with Real Life. We tend to portay this image of ourselves online, that is somewhat (or sometimes a lot!) skewed from reality.
The Information Age promotes a very neoliberal ideal where individuals become machine-like and are pretty much identical versions of eachother. Therefore I think an important approach in this era is Originality, and to avoid mob mentality. More than ever, peer pressure prevails
Top-down communication is not inherently bad. It does not follow that it is necessarily one-way, there is simply a clear direction to the organization, instead of aimlessly working towards something, with no one steering the way
Organizations use a top-down communication approach because with the built in hierarchal structure it allows for the main goals be addressed and spread to each rung of the ladder.
With social media enabling globablization I think it puts us in the right direction and gives us the tools we need to make the world better. However, we also need EMPATHY. so that we can step away from our own lives/screens and put ourselves in others' shoes
To spread awareness to students about social media codes, I would design a lesson plan that includes case studies. and have them participate in an interactive activity so that they can learn from it!
