The Prophet ﷺ came to Madinah and saw the Jews fasting on the day of Ashura.
He asked, “What is this?”
They replied, “This is a righteous day. Allah saved Musa (AS) and Bani Israel from their enemy, so Musa fasted on this day.”

The Prophet ﷺ said:
“We have more right to Musa than you.”
So he fasted on that day and commanded the Muslims to fast as well.
(Sahih al-Bukhari 2004)

"اے ایمان والو! جب جمعہ کے دن نماز کے لیے اذان دی جائے، تو اللہ کے ذکر کی طرف دوڑو اور خریدو فروخت چھوڑ دو۔ یہ تمہارے لیے بہتر ہے اگر تم علم رکھتے ہو۔"
(سورۃ الجمعہ، آیت 9)

اللہ تعالیٰ ہمیں جمعہ کے اس بابرکت دن اور محرّم کے عظیم مہینے کی قدر کرنے کی توفیق عطا فرمائے۔ 🤲
