I don't tweet much as it is these days, but for what it's worth, this will probably be my last tweet. Find me on #Nostr for anything text-based, Instagram for photos (until someone builds something on Nostr that has great UX for pics).
@fernandogros When I'm asked, I always get the feeling they're actually saying it to point out that they see me as different (and that they're better, because they're true blue Aussies or whatever)
90-year-old licenced hawker Chan Tak-ching told us she could have her roast chestnut cart back on Thursday, after today’s court ruling. She also said hawker control officers apologised to her outside court.
A 90-year-old licensed street hawker in #HongKong had her roast chestnut trolley confiscated after she asked a relative, a non-license holder, to look after it temporarily while she was away for a toilet break.

Sad news today with the passing of local French restaurant chef/owner Gregory Alexandre, dying in a motorcycle accident in the early hours of February 17th.
Alexandre had recently opened a new restaurant "Racines" in Sheung Wan, along with well-established BOUILLON.
#RIP
El Salvador will be top of the foodie list by the end of 2023
@elxolomaiz is the first restaurant in the country to win an international food award, on its way to Michelin star
And we're only just getting started
Where El Salvador is going is to the place we want to be
🏆🇸🇻
These "paper" bottles are actually lined in plastic (Tetrapak). They're very hard to recycle as they're essentially a composite, fused together with layers of other materials. It's probably less plastic than a bottle but at the end of the day they mostly still go to landfill. 1/2
NB. I want to be really clear that I offer this without judgement nor ill will — I just hope more of us would realise that a "better" single-use disposable is rarely the answer.
Thinking of Tung Po Kitchen's employees tonight as the restaurant enters its final night of service.

@fernandogros Yes, I've felt that too. I think it's because internet connections are still relatively expensive, so you can't stream/download everything.
To my knowledge, at least five Taiwanese commentators and politicians are gifting more than 300 bags of Taiwanese fried chicken chop for free on the street because they won/lost the bet on whether Pelosi will come or not.
It's a win-win tradition and should be treasured.
@kissacastaneda Congratulations! Btw I recommend a book called Expecting Better, although with only 6 more weeks to go, it's probably not helpful anymore 😂
