I might get in trouble for this, but if you’re thinking about switching to Cursor + @bot, DM me your email and a screenshot of canceling your other sub(s) and I’ll send you a free month of Ultra 👀
In 1989 I was jealous of Steve Wozniak for buying a $45,000 color printer so he could print out of Photoshop 1.0.
Today a $70 printer beats it.
But the printer never really got cheap. The expensive part just moved. You stopped paying for the machine and started paying for the ink, and the ink is priced so you never do the math.
I sold consumer electronics for a decade before I wrote about any of this. People will argue for an hour about the sticker price and never ask what's inside it.
AI is at the ink stage now.
Model prices are collapsing in public. What nobody sees is the 5% that gateways take out of every token, priced into the credits before you spend them.
Ben showed me an agent bill running $1.2 million a month. The toll alone on that is $60,000 a month, for forwarding a request.
Somebody just took it to zero.
@spcxGOD I guess as long as it prioritises first principles and the scientific method, there’s no reason why it can’t build out its own truth based dataset, which I’m guessing was the intent behind grokipedia
@spcxGOD I hope you’re right. Don’t get me wrong.
I’d love for Grok to be as Elon describes it: maximally truth seeking 👍
But the worlds training data is polluted with lies
@spcxGOD Grok will still continue to push ‘in distribution’ recommendations. It’s trained on the internet after all.
Don’t expect to find it recommending Ivermectin and fenbendazole any time soon
@solopribuilds Ideally it doesn’t need growing.
Providing you solve the right problem…
Once it works, self improving loops, genetic algorithms and natural selection take care of the rest.
Catholic also own all the big space telescopes. The observatories high in mountains.
Also be reminded that the Catholic Church founded the academic system itself.
The big bang was theorised by a Catholic Priest.
Before King Henry 8th every educated European child was educated in a Catholic school.
@Nicolas_Loizeau As part of a microprocessors module in an Electronic Engineering college diploma (1990) we had to program these using 8 bit hex input via a keypad 😂
It really puts the whole, AI is killing software engineering, in much clearer context
