Delays in i539 visa extension continues

7/ Again this is very good for folks who were already benefitting from the 180-day extension, and useless for everyone else. It still leaves out a large number of people affected by EAD delays. This cannot be an excuse for USCIS to continue business as usual.

@USCIS @DHSgov Applaud for the good initiative. But why H4 spouses need to have a valid I94 to get this extension? H4 extension processing time is beyond 6 months so H4 EAD applicant will still lose their Job as they won't have a valid I94 and can't use this extension.

@USCIS @DHSgov useless rule for 97% + who always need status extension even before EAD extn can be applied to...and @USCIS taking much longer for i539 itself, so auto extn on i765 makes it of no use for most of us who just cant travel outside country only for stamping.

If the USA consulate doesn't have bandwidth to stamp people's visas whose fault is that? Why should immigrants suffer for this?

Why can't we have a stopgap solution , like
1) stamping within USA
2) waiving stamping requirement temporarily at point of entry for valid visas

USCIS is reporting that they received 483K+++ applications for the H1B lottery for fiscal year 2023 and an estimated 26% probability of selection!

Very rarely am I left speechless, but this happens to be one of those rare moments!
