Today, I saw an AAU Club post celebrating their player picking up a D2 offer (which they should celebrate!)

They added, "Shot 52% from 3 in UA" to the post

So I quickly looked it up since Under Armour posts statistics

The player shot 44% from 3 on the UA Rise 17u

Which is still really good, but...why randomly just post numbers that are easily fact checked?

The amount of college coaches I've spoken with who do not talk with AAU/Club coaches at all is really high and posts like those don't help

No need to overinflate an already good number

Should I care? No. No I shouldn't. Why do I? No idea...

Definitely not going to wade into this debate too far.

The talent level is spread out with so many circuits and there are good players on the Rise, NXTPro, Gold, EYCL there’s also just a ton of teams so it’s harder to evaluate

But general rule is if you have to buy your own shoes and gear, you’re not on a sponsored “shoe circuit”. Doesn’t mean there’s not good hoops though!

@Clownrefs_ That’s solid. One time I watched an AAU game and a player was really bad. Saw the dad tell the videographer something and then a highlight post with wildly inflated stats! I suspect that happens more often than not
