Thrilled to announce that the 𝟏𝟓𝐭𝐡 𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐁��𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 (EABSofP) covering HISTOPATHOLOGY OF INFECTIOUS DISEASES OF THE GI & LIVER will be held at Kibo Palace Hotel in Arusha Tanzania on Thursday & Friday 22-23 February 2024 https://t.co/lFpr4Ckehd.

The two-day long-course master class is jointly organized by the East African Division of the International Academy of Pathology (EADIAP) and the British Division (BDIAP), with BDIAP as the main generous sponsors of EABSofP for 15 years now since the inaugural EABSofP in 2010.

This year’s East African British School of Pathology will feature three speakers from the BDIAP who are all world-renowned GI and Liver Specialist Pathologists with extensive experience in infectious diseases:

🔵 Dr Ula Mahadeva
🔵 Dr Alberto Guaglia

The comprehensive 2-day program will cover various topics including:
🔬 Approach to the liver biopsy
🔬 Approach to biopsy showing colitis
🔬 Small blue dot diseases in GI biopsies
🔬 Worms in the gut and liver
🔬 Fungal infections of the GI and Liver
🔬 Histopathological differential diagnosis of infectious diseases in GI and Liver
🔬 Use of special stains and ancillary studies for diagnosis of the infectious diseases

Registration fees for the two-days long-course inclusive of meals and conference facilities are as follows:

▪️ Non-IAP Members $200
▪️ Residents & Junior Pathologists $50

Travel bursaries catering for road transport to Arusha and accommodation for 2-3 nights in Arusha are available to Residents and Junior Pathologists from across East Africa.

1. Paper in ‘Cell’ shows new molecular classification with no path review.
2. When properly reviewed, 70% of discordant cases can be explained due to, for instance, inflammatory cell contaminants, misclassification etc.
