the antiblackness in the indie animation community is getting worse and nobody wants to talk about it because it's they're favorite creators who can do no wrong
there's a push on the antiblack "left" to make black ppl synonymous w the american empire n its violence. They don't make this connection w other american pocs despite the fact that every minority has established status in this country by furthering themselves from blackness
Black DC fans: Hey, it would be great to see Black characters get a genuine main universe solo series.
DC: Mini series?
Black DC fans: No, ongoing solos.
DC: Ah, I see. So a side character role in a white led ongoing series ☺️
Black DC fans: 😐😑
The “theres so many black superheroes with electricity powers” conversation keeps cycling back and I’m just begging y’all to start reading more comics😭😭😭
AMC shamelessly admitting they're opening their marketing pockets because they want to get TVL in front of the audience that rejected the first two seasons of IWTV for being too black and queer like that isn't why the show has the prestige it does
also, it's very interesting how dc used to actively promote their comics on their main account. they don't even try anymore cause in the late 2010s they would do it for damn near every comic. now it's mute 😭
