Open Letter. ( Carta Abierta porque los que me apoyan simplemente están Presos y no pueden Firmar)
@Vote_Laurel and @USRepKCastor
With all due respect:
I am sure you both know that Cuban-Americans are fighting for Freedom and zero negotiations with a Repressive System. While a few people write and sign this letter to promote bussines in the Island and as expressed by themselves they have “direct ties” to the Island (Regime), the majority of the Cuban exile, with social, moral and humanitarian values, recognize that any approach will only increase the power of the Dictatorship against Cubans in the Island.
Those who signed and addressed our elected members in such an incongruent statement have identified as supporters of the Cuban Dictatorship and who always manipulate the truth.
When the Cuban Ambassador was in Tampa, it wasn’t a group of Batista’s Cuban Community. Right there asking at her face for the Thousands of Political Prisoners was the granddaughter of an honorable revolutionary, a real one that was betrayed by the Castro’s Regime.
A young Cuban-American who had to leave Cuba because of the lack of Freedom. Someone who was also manipulated by the Revolution indoctrinated to be a pioneer at a very early age, and when having a fully understanding of the devastated reality and who the real enemy was, had to leave College and scape from that stifling reality, going to a completely new city, starting from zero and being away at a very young age from family.
I know how frozen streets in New York are, but the repression of my thoughts and my freedom to find myself and contribute to a better society in Cuba, were even worst.
That’s what they hide in that letter as it is easier to say there was a group of haters when in reality there was a group of Free Cubans who do not want negotiations with the Cuban Dictatorship, including myself, young activist, representing the Cuban Youth Community and a relative of a Cuban Political Prisoner Rolando Sardiñas( 12 yrs in Prison) after 11J Protests in the Island.
It was a shame they were hosting such an exclusive dinner with the Representation of the Cuban Dictatorship, the same person denies Free Cubans to return to Cuba and gather with their families from expressing against the system.
Those are real antisocial behaviors. Behaviors full of hate and manipulation against our People, our Cuban People and the Young Generations as the future of the Society.
#Cuba is a cruel Dictatorship that has repressed even peaceful protest and any intentions to peacefully dialogue and contribute to a better society. If some Cubans choose to demand for Intervention is because they were left with that only option to recover the Freedom and Rights they were taken away by Castro.
“The Cuban Government” had the opportunity to listen to the opposition and open to a peaceful exchange and dialogue in multiple times. But they chose to repress and exterminate all attempts for Democracy. That’s where we need to depart from, when thinking about approaching or negotiations with the Authoritarian Regime of Havana where Democracy is not permitted.
I am not an extremist, I am a Young Cuban-American who knows FREEDOM is the ONLY WAY to be HUMANS and not slaves of ideologies that exterminate our existence.
Thank you for supporting Cubans, that’s a real act of altruism and we appreciate it. @USRepKCastor
Cordially,
Danet Rodriguez.
