One thing missing in so many programs today is the development of leadership. Kids have a hard time leading because they’re used to having adults control everything. We have to give up some control for leadership to develop. It’s hard for many adults, but very necessary for kids!
Don’t do good things for attention.
Don’t do good things for credit.
Don’t do good things for praise.
Do good things to do good things, to make an impact, to serve others.
Humility is the way.

It doesn’t matter if you started last year or last month! No role is promised. If somebody comes back from the off season & is a better player, a harder worker, more dedicated, they can, will & should take your spot. Playing time is earned every day. Discipline is the separator!
Two MEC women's basketball programs are ranked in this week's Atlantic Region Rankings. Fairmont State checked in at No. 2, while Charleston is slotted 10th this week.
Don’t be the player who is too cool to go hard. Whether in a workout or a game, 100% is the bare minimum. Cool has no place in the game. Cool won’t impress anyone, won’t get you more playing time, won’t ever get you better. Cool will keep you on the bench. Cool will get you beat!

"Coaches need to not only set the standard but BE THE STANDARD for their players. Coaches should be as mentally tough, poised, coachable, and encouraging as they want their players to be." (Jamy Bechler)
